Governance

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is the main document of the Consortium. The MOU describes the relationship between the member libraries and MALC governance. Libraries joining MALC sign the MOU.

MALC is governed by a Board of Members, nominated by Rectors of eight founding universities to represent their libraries, and a representative of the Universities’ Central Library. Elections for new Board members will take place in September 2020.

The Board of Members meets annually to determine the policies, strategic planning, membership and operations of the Consortium. Board member are rotated according to agreed procedures.

The MALC President is elected from the Board of Members to oversee operations of the Consortium. The President serves for a two-year term, with the possibility of re-election.
